06/09/2009 - New Orleans, LA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Veteran linebacker Dan Morgan has decided to retire again, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, announced on his Web Site Monday.
Morgan, just 30, signed with the Saints in March, 2008, as he was released by the Carolina Panthers after missing significant time in 2006 and 2007. He tried to make a comeback with New Orleans but retired before the 2008 season, citing an Achilles tendon injury suffered in 2007.
He attempted another comeback for the upcoming 2009 season but left the Saints' minicamp with a calf injury. Rosenhaus confirmed Monday that the linebacker had retired for a second time.
Morgan was Carolina's first-round draft choice in 2001 out of Miami, and started 59 games for the Panthers. Morgan made 109 tackles in the 2004 season, when he was named to the Pro Bowl, and his 452 tackles rank third in franchise history.
